Pawan Hans Helicopter Training Institute (PHTI) is an initiative of Pawan Hans Limited in pursuit of excellence and established on 22 Oct 2009 in Mumbai. The institute is approved by Director General of Civil Aviation – Govt. of India to conduct Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) courses.

The AME course conforms to the approved ab-initio training requirements in the field of Aircraft maintenance engineering to prepare candidates to appear for basic AME licensing examinations conducted by DGCA. Duration of the course is 3 Years Full time in the Mechanical stream i.e B1.3 Helicopter Turbine. The Training consists of both theory and practical sessions. Students will have access to study maintenance of helicopters in CAR 145 approved maintenance organization. Faculty teams with a wealth of academic, practical and corporate experience are part of the Institute. The Faculty includes, experienced Engineers, Pilots, and industry experts covering maintenance, operations, engineering management, marketing, finance, InfoTech and material management of aviation industry.

B.Sc (Aeronautics) is a three year under-graduate programme, which will provide the students a strong background in the Aviation field to compete for higher positions in Aviation Industry and also to pursue higher studies such as, MBA in Aviation. After B.Sc (Aeronautics), the students will have an upper edge over other graduates. They can be placed in Aviation Industry in the departments of In-flight Service, Ground Support, Ground Handling, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Maintenance Control Centre, CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization) and Quality Management Organization as Quality Manager or Technical Officers.

The training course in the field of aircraft maintenance engineering is designed to give the students comprehensive knowledge of aircraft and its systems with emphasis on skill development, and the good maintenance practices to enable them to become trained and competent maintenance professionals. The essential instructions include equal amount of Theory classes & Practical sessions to achieve the dream of Skill India.
