CAR-147(Basic) Training Organization, New Delhi

The CAR-147 (Basic) / B.Sc (Aeronautics) programe is a joint venture of Pawan Hans Limited (A Government of India Enterprises) and Jamia Milllia Islamia (Central University) set up through MOU signed on 27 July 2017 (alongwith MOU Addendum dated 14 June 2018), under Self Finance Scheme(SFS). 

The training orgnization has been established with an objective to provide a world class quality knowledge and practical training in aviation at par with latest technology enabling students competent for taking Modules Examination of CAR 66 requirements, in order to acquire DGCA License (AME license in Mechanical/Avionics stream). After successful completion of training syllabus, the students would be awarded a Certificate of Recognition as per CAR-147 (Basic) guidelines. Since the training syllabus has been framed in line with the syllabus prescribed by the University Grants Commission vide letter number 1-14/2016 (CP-II) dated 16 June 2017, the students would also be awarded B.Sc. (Aeronautics) degree by the Jamia Millia Islamia.

Bachelor of Science (Aeronautics) is a three year under-graduate program and it will provide student a strong aviation background to pursue higher education in Aviation, which may enable him to acquire top positions in aviation industry. On the other hand, the students have a vast career in the field of aircraft maintenance engineering after acquiring requisite DGCA licence. The aviation industry is poised for substantial growth in India and this will go a long way for the country’s overall development to be maintained at a higher rate. The country has already witnessed the open sky policy which led to significant increase in air services which in turn required parallel growth in overall infra-structure. Therefore, it will need greater requiremnents for skilled manpopwer in all streams connected with aindustry viis-a-vis increase in number of Airplanes, Helicopters and allied services.

Basic Aircraft Maintenance Training conforms to the ab-initio training requirements in the field of Aircraft maintenance engineering to prepare candidates to appear for basic AME licensing examinations conducted by DGCA. Students will have access to study the procedures for maintenance of helicopters in a CAR 145 approved maintenance organization. Faculty teams with a wealth of academic, practical and corporate experience are part of the Institute. Faculty includes, experienced engineers, industry experts covering engineering management, marketing, finance, lnfotech and material management. The training course in the field of aircraft maintenance engineering is designed to give the students comprehensive knowledge of aircraft and its systems with emphasis on skill development, and the good maintenance practices to enable them to become trained and competent maintenance professionals. The essential instructions include adequate amount of Theory classes & Practical sessions to achieve required skill in aviation field. Entire syllabus for CAR-147 (Basic) training has been splitted into five semesters which would be covered within two & half year time span.
