PHL Internship Scheme as in vogue for a long period of time envisages to engage students pursuing Engineering Graduate & MBA Degree enrolled with recognized University/Institution within India as Interns. The Interns shall be made familiar with various PHL Verticals, Departments and about its Regional Offices functioning and expected to study the process and system through empirical collection and collation of in-house and other information.  The details of the PHL Intern Scheme in brief are as under:

Name of the SchemePawan Hans Internship Scheme

PurposeTo provide short term exposure to selected pursuing Engineering Graduate & MBA Degree candidates with the different verticals/Departments and on the functioning of Regional Offices of PHL located at New Delhi(Northern Region, Rohini Heliport, Delhi),Mumbai(Western Region) and Eastern Regional at Guwahati. However, for domains/ functional areas, Annexure-A may be referred.


(a) To serve an opportunity to young academic talent to be associated with PHL and work for mutual benefit.

(b) To provide an opportunity to Interns to understand the working of a Public Sector Undertaking in a Civil Aviation Sector and become aware of the associated requirements concerning various rules and regulations governing Civil Aviation Sector.

Time Schedule for InternshipThis shall be available throughout the years based on the requirements of PHL.

Intake of Interns: The maximum intake for all offices of PHL (Delhi, Noida, and Mumbai & Guwahati) shall be 30 nos per session comprising of 15 Nos. students pursuing Engineering Degree & 15 nos. MBA course from recognized University/Institutes in India and this intake of nos. may vary depending on the PHL needs and no of applicants received per stream/session.  

EligibilityBonafide students pursuing students Graduate Engineering and MBA course of any recognized University/Institution within India, sponsored by the Principal /Head of Institutions are eligible to apply for the internship.

Period: The period of Internship shall be of 6 weeks and no internship training to be less than this duration. The Interns not completing the requisite period will not be issued any certificate.

Unpaid Internship: The Internship will be on "No Charge-No Payment Basis". The Intern shall not be paid any stipend during the training period. 

No Accommodation & Travelling Expenses: No accommodation at any office locations as also the TA/DA expenses shall be paid for attending the internship training in any office of PHL.

No Liabilities for PHL: The Company shall not be liable for any loss or injury sustained during the internship and the Intern shall also be responsible for any loss or damage caused to the property of the Company during the internship training and an Indemnity Bond in this regard shall be submitted by the Interns at the time of reporting for Internship at the PHL Office designated locations. The Performa form indemnity uploaded shall be provided at the time of joining as Intern.

Eligibility: Bonafide students pursuing Engineering or MBA Degree course from any recognized University/Institution within India, fulfilling following conditions are eligible to apply for the internship:

  • Under-graduate students, having completed/appeared in the term end exams of 2nd/3rd year/4th semester of the bachelor degree course and secured not less than 85% or equivalent marks in 12th class. However, the cut-off in the case of SC/ST candidates shall be 60%.
  • The students who have appeared in the final exam or just completed Graduation and waiting for admission for higher studies may also be considered for internship provided that-
  • They have secured 70% or more cumulative marks in all the years/semesters of their graduation till the date of application.
  • The period between the month of declaration of result of final exam and the desired month of internship should not exceed six months e.g. if the result is declared in the month of June then he/she can apply for the internship beginning till the month of December.

NB: The candidates may also be asked to furnish the details in case letter grade/CGPA/ in context to, equivalent percentage and certificate of method for calculating percentage as well.

Internship Experience Certificate:

A certificate regarding successful completion of Internship shall be issued by the Head(HR) of each Office  location in PHL in the enclosed format at Annexure-'B'. 

Logistics & Support: Interns will be required to have their own laptops and PHL shall provide to the Interns the working space, internet facility and other necessities as deemed fit by the concerned Heads of concerned Departments at any PHL Office locations. 

Confidentiality of Records & Data/Information:  It may be strictly observed that the conduct of the interns and their access to data shall be the sole responsibility of the concerned Heads of Verticals/Departments and that of Regional Heads only. None of the official records to be carried away by an Intern(s) while undergoing internship in any of the Department or Regions of PHL. 

Reservation:  Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) categories shall submit the certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the prescribed format and original to be produced at the time of reporting for internship.   OBC (Non-creamy layer) certificate shall not be more than six months old as on the last date of submission of application. The candidates belonging to OBC (Non creamy layer category) only shall apply in the OBC category.  Those belonging to Creamy layer shall mark their category as "General".

  • Applicants must also clearly indicate the area of interest/Domains.
  • A candidate can apply for internship only once during a financial year.
  • The applicants who do not fulfill the eligibility conditions, their applications shall be rejected without any further reference.
  • The selected applicant has to produce original Matriculate Certificate for DOB, Original Aadhar Card, original mark sheets (Last term exam of University/Institution) and NOC in original from the University/ College /institution at the time of joining, failing which his/her candidature shall be cancelled.

Procedure for Selection and Other Modalities of the Scheme:

1. All the applications shall be received centrally at PHL Corporate Office only through Online mode in the address link as sub-head Skill & Development in the website of Pawan Hans Ltd at for further scrutiny and selection of eligible candidates. Candidates must submit their applications at least 30 days in advance from the date of planned internship schedule and for current internship falling due in Dec.,2019/Jan.,2020, it may be submitted immediately.  

2. The selected candidates may be asked by HR & Administration Department of PHL to submit the soft copy of their NOC from their Head of the Department/Principal by giving sufficient time before issuance of the offer letter by the HOD(HR & Admin) PHL.  It also has to be indicated in the NOC that the student would not be registered for any course requiring his/her attendance in the class during the period of internship.  The respective HR & Administration Department at PHL various Office locations  has to obtain the original NOC issued by the college/institution/University  at the time of joining of the candidate and also verify his/her eligibility from the original documents.  If any discrepancy is found, the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled by the HOD(HR) & Administration) on receiving reference from PHL respective office locations.

3. PHL shall enroll a maximum of 30 Interns per slot (15 slots to students pursuing Engineering Degree & 15 for MBA for all its Offices at a time. This number may be relaxed with the permission of PHL Competent Authority. The decision of the PHL regarding the suitability of a candidate as intern shall be final and binding and no correspondence of any nature shall be entertained in this regard.

4. If any discrepancy is found with respect to the original NOC & other documents, the candidature of the candidate will be cancelled by the PHL.

5. PHL will upload the list of selected candidates on the Website of PHL intake of Interns with mention of location(s).

6. The applications will be scrutinized based on marks obtained in aggregate in semester examinations conducted by the concerned University/Institution for drawing merit of eligible candidates. Further, depending upon the number of applications received against a particular domain/area, PHL also reserves the right to fix up the eligibility criteria, limit the number of Interns applicants for a particular domain as also to decide about the mode of screening thereof.

7. The concerned Heads of Vertical/departments and Regions shall be personally responsible for ensuring that the work programme and output mutually agreed upon with the Intern is satisfactorily completed.  Interns shall be required to submit a brief report/paper at the end of their assignment to the Heads of the concerned Vertical/departments and Regions about their Learning experience.

Attendance: While doing internship in PHL, the candidate should have a minimum of 75% attendance and they have to mark In and Out time on daily basis. In case of less than 75% attendance, no extension of internship period is allowed and no experience certificate will be issued. The attendance record and the details of work supervision shall be maintained by the Heads of the Verticals/Departments and Regions.

Scheme Review: PHL reserves the right to review/amend and withdraw the Scheme at anytime and PHL decision shall be final and binding and no correspondence shall be entrained in this regard. . The Scheme so reviewed will be placed on the website of PHL.

Relaxation: CMD, PHL will have the power to relax any of the conditions mentioned above, in respect of any deserving candidate.
